Keauhou, Hawai`i,
08-06-2012 – Local hi-tech firm CheckSavvy, Inc. introduced the
Aloha One Card, the first known QR code-based debit card as part of
their mobile security platform at TechConKona this past Thursday.
“It’s the first of its
kind,” claims Alan Rudo, Founder and CEO of the Hawaii-based
hi-tech company. Rudo demoed the card in combination with their
CheckSavvy Alerts App for providing cardholders payment alerts over
the smart phone.
“We’re not aware of
anyone else doing mobile security like this,” stated Rudo.
The Aloha One Card
features a QR code that prompts a smart phone call to verify
purchases. “This allows merchants to accept payment cards anywhere
using only a smart phone,” Rudo said. “All transactions are
verified so merchants should receive the lowest payment tier and save
serious money.”
Rudo further demonstrated
the CheckSavvy Alerts mobile App for iPhone, iPad and Android devices
due out this Fall. The app features payment security and mobile
discounts on local entertainment, activities, dining, shopping and
events. “It’s not only about security, it’s about fun &
entertainment too,” said Rudo. He went on to explain, “We’re
only accepting beta users but we are shooting for it go public
before the Holiday season.”
